This 10-day vacation is the perfect way to explore
Christian England. Start in London and enjoy a welcome
dinner and guided sightseeing featuring visits to
Westminster Abbey, Wesley’s House and Chapel, Bunhill
Fields Cemetery, and St. Paul’s Cathedral. Also enjoy an
excursion to Canterbury to visit England’s Mother
Church, Canterbury Cathedral, and hear about Thomas à
Becket and the Black Prince. Back in London, visit
Spurgeon’s Metropolitan Tabernacle. Travel to Oxford and
follow your Local Guide to Christ Church College and
Cathedral. Also enjoy a walking tour through Oxford and
visit Magdalen College, where Lewis was elected a fellow
in 1925, and Holy Trinity Church in Headington Quarry,
where he is buried. Enjoy an excursion to Bristol
through the scenic Cotswolds and visit 800-year-old St.
Mary Redcliffe Church, John Wesley’s Chapel, and The New
Room, the oldest Methodist building in the world. Stops
are made at the birthplace of John and Charles Wesley,
Epworth to visit the Old Rectory and the Wesley Memorial
Church, in the medieval walled city of York to admire
York Minster, at Lincoln Castle in Cambridge to visit
500-year-old King’s College, in Olney to visit the
Baptist Church and the Cowper and Newton Museum, and in
Bedford to visit the John Bunyan Museum. Return to
London.
