As the industry has changed, she has adapted to bring innovative solutions to her clients. She is widely recognized by her clients as a true professional with outstanding customer service.
Laurie began her career as an agent in a traditional ‘full service’ travel agency. In 1995 Laurie and her family moved to Andover, Kansas where she began working for American Express Travel. In 1999 Laurie became the sole travel consultant for Wichita State University. As the traditional travel industry business model became challenged by the arrival of web-based travel sites, Laurie saw an opportunity, and decided to establish her own company in 2005. Laurie’s company, Travelin’ Bugs, contracts with Sunflower Travel as a full service agent while continuing to be the sole agent for Wichita State University. Laurie has several diverse clients traveling in niche markets; through outstanding customer service Travelin’ Bugs and Sunflower Travel continue to prosper.
Laurie grew up in Camillus, New York and has since lived all over the United States. Laurie and her husband John live in Benton, KS.

Kari joined the Sunflower team in the summer of 2014. While she is fairly new to the travel business she is not new to travel.
Travel has always been a passion of Kari’s. The first big trip that led to her travel addiction was spending a month traveling across Europe, which was a college graduation present from her parents. From there, it was all history. After this trip she began planning domestic and international trips as a hobby for friends, family, and herself.
Some of her favorite trips have included visiting Thailand, Hawaii, Italy, Greece, San Francisco, Banff, Vancouver, and her yearly trip to New Orleans for Mardi Gras. She also considers Chicago a second home and believes it is one of the best cities on Earth!
Outside of travel, Kari likes to spend time with friends and family. She enjoys running and trying out new restaurants around town. Her family relocated from Nashville, TN in 2014. In Nashville she was actively involved as a volunteer for the Middle Tennessee YMCA. Currently, she is involved with anything that has to do with her two young children, who are in 3rd and 5th grade at The Independent School in Wichita. She spends a lot of her free time volunteering at the school and has been actively involved in TIS's Casino Night fundraiser for the past two years.
One of Kari's favorite travel quotes is: "The world is a book, and those who do not travel read only one page." -Saint Augustine.
